CLASS LEVELS

Level 1: beginner, little to no yoga experience

Level 2: intermediate, comfortable with basic poses like upward and downward dog

Level 3: advanced, experience in many poses including balances and inversions

All Levels: suitable for all practitioners

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Ashtanga Mysore Style is Ashtanga Yoga taught in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore South India. This teacher supervised class provides the opportunity for students to learn the Ashtanga system one pose at a time. Students work and learn at an individual pace. Hands on adjustments are given. New poses are taught as the student's commitment and proficiency evolve. Knowledge of the Primary Series is helpful, but not required. Very suitable for beginners, advanced students, and those with injuries and special needs. Mysore classes are for students that are committed to developing a consitant and personal asana practice. For Information about the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore South India. Please be aware that this is not a teacher led practice. It is independent, but a teacher is there for guidance, support and adjustments.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Ashtanga prides itself on being one of the most traditional yoga disciplines in the west. There are a series of 72 postures taught by linking breath with movement. This traditional, disciplined class will leave you feeling completely physically and mentally transformed.

Ashtanga Fundamentals will cover the fundamentals of Ashtanga yoga including Ujjayi Breath (Breathing Technique), Asana (Posture) and Bandha (Energetic Locks. It will help prepare you for any yoga flow class, namely, Mysore or a full Ashtanga-Vinyasa class.

Power Flow uses the same technique as a Vinyasa Flow class where breath is linked with movement. The guidance and energy in the class is designed to develop internal mental and physical power. Perfect for those who love an intense practice.

Vinyasa comes from the Ashtanga Yoga discipline where breath is linked with movement. At times some postures are held longer and the movement is much like a dance. Come join us and see how a vinyasa class can put you in touch with your breath, mind and body.

Guided Meditation begins with short discussion that sets the tone and theme for the meditation sitting and then ends with a talk to close the session. Meditation is recommended for people of all ages, yoga levels and anyone who undergoes life's daily challenges, unexpected stresses and constant over stimulation. Research shows that meditation will help you sleep, ease headache tension, stress, and leave you with an overall sense of calm.
